The Communications and Artist Relations Assistant role is responsible for aspects of artist management, booking, and public relations for both artists and festivals. You will be in communication with professional musical artists and their teams to collect promotional materials, technical and hospitality needs, advance shows, and coordinate travel plans. Additional responsibilities may include outreach to local artists and community performance groups to involve in performances and workshops, collecting and writing bios, assisting with the creation of performance schedules, coalescing Artist Relations spreadsheets and helping to manage artist hospitality and transportation for festivals.

You will assist in handling the ins and outs of managing musical artists, to include gathering content and posting on social media, researching media publications/ journalists, creating email newsletters, distributing flyers, responding to voicemail messages, assisting with the writing of press releases, album recording/release strategy, and more. You will be responsible for keeping artist calendars and websites up to date and assist in the development and execution of tour marketing and album release / promotion plans.

Depending on skillset and interest, opportunities to work on video production, street team development, graphic/merch/web design, and brand development are possible.

Candidates must be proactive, responsible, able to communicate effectively with people from all walks of life, and uphold to our policy of non-disclosure. Excellent computer and communication skills are required.

PAY TYPE: Hourly

JOB STATUS: Part-time; 15-20 hours/week (flexible scheduling) - additional hours may be required during festivals / events
